Głuchoryjek[2] (Surdisorex) – rodzaj ssaków z podrodziny myszoryjków (Myosoricinae) w obrębie rodziny ryjówkowatych (Soricidae).

Rozmieszczenie geograficzne

Rodzaj obejmuje gatunki występujące endemicznie w Kenii[3][4][5].

Morfologia

Długość ciała (bez ogona) 82–110 mm, długość ogona 20–35 mm, długość ucha 6,7–7,3 mm, długość tylnej stopy 14–17,5 mm; masa ciała 16–27,5 g[4][6].

Systematyka

Rodzaj zdefiniował w 1906 roku angielski zoolog Oldfield Thomas w artykule zatytułowanym Dwa nowe rodzaje małych ssaków odkryte przez panią Holms-Tarn w Brytyjskiej Afryce Wschodniej, opublikowanym w czasopiśmie „The Annals and magazine of natural history”[1]. Gatunkiem typowym jest (oryginalne oznaczenie) głuchoryjek łąkowy (S. norae).

Etymologia

Surdisorex: łac. surdus ‘cichy, głuchy’[7]; sorex, soricis ‘ryjówka’, od gr. ὑραξ hurax, ὑρακος ‘ryjówka’[8].
