Hamak
Hamak – rodzaj wiszącego łóżka zrobionego z materiału lub sznurków, zawieszonego między dwiema podporami.
Historia
Hamaki powstały najprawdopodobniej na Wyspach Karaibskich. W 1493 roku Krzysztof Kolumb, gdy dotarł do Nowego Świata zanotował w swoich dziennikach informację o „wiszących łóżkach z wełnianej plecionki” spostrzeżonych na Bahamach[1]. Od 1597 roku hamaki stały się standardowym wyposażeniem brytyjskiej królewskiej floty morskiej[1]. W ten sposób hamak dotarł do Europy.
