Życiorys
Wnuk cesarza Yuandi, kuzyn poprzedniego władcy Ai Di, wstąpił na tron w wieku 9 lat. Cesarzowa-wdowa Wang Zhengjun, żona cesarza Yuandi, babka Pinga ustanowiła regentem Wang Manga, który następnie w wyniku przedwczesnej śmierci małoletniego monarchy przejął władzę.
Przeprowadzony za jego panowania, w 2 roku n.e., powszechny spis ludności w Chinach wykazał 59 594 978 osób w 12 233 062 gospodarstwach domowych[2].
