Rząd Hymeneliales utworzyli Soili Kristina Stenroos, Jolanta Miądlikowska i François M. Lutzoni w 2014 r. Typem nomenklatorycznym jest rodzaj Hymenelia Kremp. 1852[1]. Według aktualizowanej klasyfikacji Index Fungorum bazującej na Dictionary of the Fungi jest to takson monotypowy zawierający jedną tylko rodzinę z kilkoma rodzajami[2]:
