Życiorys

Młodość

Joe Gatto urodził się 5 czerwca 1976 roku w Nowym Jorku[1]. Aktor pochodzi z rodziny o korzeniach włoskich. Uczęszczał do Monsignor Farrell High School wraz z Salem Vulcano, Brianem Quinnem i Jamesem Murrayem[2]. Ukończył studia na kierunku księgowości na LIU Post[3].

Kariera

Po zakończeniu studiów Gatto wznowił znajomość z Vulcano i Murrayem, a rok później wspólnie z Mike'em Boccio założyli trupę komediową The Tenderloins, choć miejsce Boccio po czasie zajął Brian Quinn[4]. Swoje skecze zamieszczali w internecie m.in. na platformach YouTube i MySpace[5]. W 2011 roku członkowie trupy zadebiutowali w autorskim serialu komediowym z elementami reality show pt. Impractical Jokers[6]. Ich telewizyjny debiut przyniósł im sukces i dużą rozpoznawalność. W 2019 roku zadebiutował ich drugi projekt w postaci teleturnieju The Misery Index[7]. W 2020 roku opubilkował swoją autbiografię pt. The Dogfather: My Love for Dogs, Dessert and Growing Up Italian[8]. W 2021 roku podjął decyzję o opuszczeniu obsady Impractical Jokers oraz trupy The Tenderloins. Po zakończeniu pracy przy serialu rozpoczął solową karierę jako stand-uper. Życie prywatne

Jego rodzicami byli Joseph Gatto Senior oraz Gerri Gatto[10]. Jego ojciec zmarł w 1995 roku na trzustki, zaś matka zmarła w 2012 roku[10].

W 2013 roku aktor poślubił Bessy Gatto, z którą ma dwójkę dzieci[11]. Para od 2021 roku była w separacji, ale małżonkowie powrócili do siebie w 2023 roku[12].
