KernelSU (Kernel Assisted Superuser) – otwartoźródłowe oprogramowanie umożliwiające uzyskanie uprawnień administratora (root) na urządzeniach z systemem Android. Stanowi alternatywę dla narzędzia Magisk[1][2].
Metoda została opracowana przez programistę Jasona Donenfelda (znanego jako zx2c4), twórcę m.in. WireGuarda oraz odkrywcy podatności w bootloaderze OnePlus. W odróżnieniu od Magiska, działającego w przestrzeni użytkownika, KernelSU integruje dostęp do roota bezpośrednio z jądrem systemu. Podejście to omija ograniczenia SELinux i pozwala niemal całkowicie ukryć status roota przed warstwą użytkownika, a tym samym przed zabezpieczeniami typu SafetyNet[2]. Twórcą otwartoźródłowej implementacji KernelSU, przystosowanej do GKI (Generic Kernel Images), jest programista o pseudonimie weishu[1].
