Kulas – polskie nazwisko. Na początku lat 90. XX wieku w Polsce nosiły je 4238 osoby,[1] według nowszych, internetowych oparty danych liczba jest 4669.[2] Nazwisko pochodzi od kula lub kuleć lub kulić[3] i jest najbardziej rozpowszechnione w środkowo-północnej Polsce.[2] Nazwisko po raz pierwszy odnotowano w Polsce w 1460 roku[3] i można znaleźć także wśród Polaków w Niemczech.[4]
