Pozycja w klasyfikacji według Index Fungorum: Lentariaceae, Gomphales, Phallomycetidae, Agaricomycetes, Agaricomycotina, Basidiomycota, Fungi[1].
Rodzinę tę do taksonomii grzybów wprowadził Walter Jülich w 1982 r. Typem nomenklatorycznym jest rodzaj Lentaria Corner 1950[1]. Należą do niej rodzaje[2]:
- Hydnocristella R.H. Petersen 1971
- Kavinia Pilát 1938 – kolcóweczka
- Lentaria Corner 1950 – koralóweczka
