Pozycja w klasyfikacji według Index Fungorum: Leptosilliaceae, Xylariales, Xylariomycetidae, Sordariomycetes, Pezizomycotina, Ascomycota, Fungi[2].
Takson utworzyli w 2019 r. Hermann Voglmayr i Walter Michael Jaklitsch. Typem nomenklatorycznym jest rodzaj Leptosillia Höhn. 1928[2]. Według Species Fungorum bazującego na Dictionary of the Fungi do rodziny tej należ a dwa rodzaje[1]:
