Luan Babameto (ur. 4 grudnia 1930 we wsi Nivice k. Kurveleshu, zm. 26 listopada 2014[1][2]) – albański polityk i inżynier, minister komunikacji w latach 1974–1987, minister transportu w latach 1987–1989[1].
Życiorys
Szkołę średnią ukończył w Szkodrze. W latach 1950-1954 odbył studia z zakresu kolejnictwa na wydziale inżynierii mechanicznej Politechniki Warszawskiej, uzyskując dyplom inżyniera[1]. Po ukończeniu studiów pracował w Dyrekcji Kolei w Durrës. W 1956 wstąpił do Albańskiej Partii Pracy. W latach 1956–1958 kierował działem zaopatrzenia kolei albańskich, a następnie pełnił funkcje głównego inżyniera taboru kolejowego w Durrës[1]. W latach 1961–1966 pełnił funkcję głównego inżyniera w Dyrekcji Generalnej Kolei Albańskich. W latach 1966–1974 sprawował funkcję dyrektora Kolei Albańskich. W 1974 objął stanowisko ministra komunikacji w rządzie Mehmeta Shehu, a od 1987 (po zmianie nazwy resortu) kierował ministerstwem transportu. W latach 1989–1990 był przewodniczącym Komitetu Wykonawczego Rady Ludowej w okręgu Durrës[1].
W latach 1978-1991 zasiadał w Zgromadzeniu Ludowym[1]. Po przejściu na emeryturę pisał prace o transporcie kolejowym, a także wspomnienia i krótkie utwory prozatorskie.
