Morriston Chess Club – walijski klub szachowy z siedzibą w Morriston.
Historia
Klub został założony w 1970 roku pod nazwą M.O.T (Ministry of Transport), w 1971 roku zmienił nazwę na D.O.E. (Department of Environment). W 1982 roku zmieniono nazwę na Cwmrhydyceirw PTA, a od 1984 roku klub funkcjonuje pod nazwą Morriston[1]. W 2023 roku zawodnik klubu, Carl Strugnell, został mistrzem świata w szachoboksie w wadze półciężkiej[2]. Również w 2023 roku klub zadebiutował w Welsh Chess Premier League, zdobywając w sezonie 2023/2024 wicemistrzostwo, za Cardiff Chess Club[3]. Sezon 2024/2025 zespół zakończył na trzeciej pozycji, za Cardiff Chess Club i Rhyfelwyr Essyllwg[4]. W 2025 roku klub zadebiutował w Pucharze Europy. W pierwszej rundzie walijski zespół pokonał faworyzowany Aatos Helsinki 3½:2½, a w późniejszej fazie turnieju zremisował jedno spotkanie i przegrał pięć, zajmując w klasyfikacji 97. miejsce na 102 uczestników[5]. W sezonie 2025/2026 ligi walijskiej zespół zajął drugą pozycję, za Rhyfelwyr Essyllwg[6].
