Do rodzaju należą gatunki występujące endemicznie na wyspie Nowa Kaledonia[2][3][4].
Systematyka
Rodzaj Neocaledosynthemis wprowadził w 2024 roku entomolog Günther Fleck. Wyróżnił go na podstawie cech osobników dorosłych i larw i zaliczył do niego dwa gatunki: Synthemis fenella (jako gatunek typowy) i Synthemis ariadne[2].
Etymologia
Neocaledosynthemis: Nowa Kaledonia – miejsce występowania gatunków z tego rodzaju; rodzaj Synthemis[2].
