Nexenta OS – dystrybucja systemu GNU/Solaris. Oznacza to, że – podobnie jak GNU/Linux – korzysta z oprogramowania GNU, lecz używa jądra OpenSolarisa.
System pakietów bazuje na linuksowej dystrybucji Debian i zachowuje zgodność binarną (ABI) z Solarisem.
