  • Pachytriton: gr. παχυς pakhus „duży, gruby”; τρίτων tritōn „traszka, salamandra”[2].
  • Pingia: Chih Ping (1886–1965), chiński biolog[5]. Gatunek typowy: Pachytriton granulosus Chang, 1933.
