Papillonotus – rodzaj roztoczy z kohorty mechowców i monotypowej rodziny Papillonotidae.
Rodzaj ten został opisany w 1961 roku przez Johna Anthony'ego Wallworka[2]. Gatunkiem typowym wyznaczono Papillonotus maculatus[2][3]. Dawniej zaliczany był do rodziny Oppidae[4]. W osobnej rodzinie umieścił go János Balogh[3].
Rodzaj paleotropikalny, znany z Afryki, Indii i Borneo[3].
Należą tu 4 opisane gatunki[3]:
