Rodzaj Ramboldia utworzyli Ginteras Kantvilas i John Alan Elix w 1994 r. Gatunkiem typowym jest Ramboldia stuartii'' (Hampe) Kantvilas & Elix 1994[2]. Nazwa polska według Lichenes of Poland. A fifth annotated checklis[1].
