Scratch Massive – francuski duet muzyki elektronicznej założony przez producentkę, DJ-kę i wokalistkę Maud Geffray oraz muzyka i producenta Sébastiena Chenuta[1].

Historia

Maud Geffray i Sébastien Chenut poznali się jako nastolatkowie zafascynowani francuską sceną techno (m.in. setami Laurenta Garniera w paryskim klubie „Rex Club”). W 1999 roku postanowili sami zacząć tworzyć i wydali debiutancki EP KABA Freestyle. Ich pierwsze single – takie jak Ice Breaker z 2001 roku czy Keep On Working z 2002 roku, idealnie wpasowały się w ówczesną eksplozję popularności nurtu electroclashu[2][3].

Debiutancki album Enemy & Lovers z 2003 roku zdefiniował unikalne brzmienie duetu, odchodząc od techno w stronę rocka i psychodelii, natomiast kolejny – Time z 2007 roku, przyniósł mocne inspiracje muzyką nowofalową, w tym głośny cover Three Imaginary Boys brytyjskiej grupy The Cure[2].

W 2007 roku skomponowali również swoją pierwszą ścieżką dźwiękową do filmu Szukając miłości wyreżyserowanym przez Zoe Cassavetes. Z tą amerykańską reżyserką współpracowali jeszcze przy filmie Day Out Of Days z 2016 roku[4].

Przełomowym sukcesem duetu okazał się wydany w 2011 roku krążek Nuit De Rêve, na którym znalazło się 10 utworów, w tym Take Me There z gościnnym udziałem Jimmy’ego Somerville'a[2].

Artyści z powodzeniem wydają także projekty solowe. Kontrolę nad swoją twórczością ugruntowali, zakładając w 2016 roku w Los Angeles własną wytwórnię muzyczną bORDEL Records[5].
