Urodził się w Ilanjambore w dystrykcie Ramanathapuram na terenie dzisiejszego stanu Tamil Nadu[1]. Początkowo grał w teatrze[2], pracę w przemyśle filmowym rozpoczął w 1979, grając w Pasi[3]. Wciela się głównie w bohaterów komediowych, często pojawia się na ekranie razem z Goundamanim[1]. Występował w obrazach realizowanych w tamilskim, malajalam, telugu i kannada[4]. Jego filmografia obejmuje przeszło 200 tytułów[5]. Jest członkiem AIADMK[6], angażował się w kampanie wyborcze tego ugrupowania[5].
