Silnes – amerykański konstruktor wyścigowy.

Historia

Firma założona została przez producenta wyrobów metalowych, Joe Silnesa[1]. Silnes, z pochodzenia Norweg, w 1936 roku zaczął wytwarzać nadwozia samochodowe. Po II wojnie światowej rozpoczął naprawianie midgetów oraz odrestaurowywanie starych samochodów[2]. W dalszych latach produkował także samochody typu midget[3], dirt track[4] oraz Indy[5]. Silnes produkował wyroby metalowe do lat 90.[2].

Wyniki w Formule 1

W latach 1950–1960 wyścig Indianapolis 500 był eliminacją Mistrzostw Świata Formuły 1.
