Rodzaj Stigmidium utworzył Vittore Benedetto Antonio Trevisan de Saint-Léon w 1860 r. Gatunkiem typowym jest Stigmidium schaereri[2]. Nazwa polska według Wiesława Fałtynowicza[3]. Synonimy nazwy naukowej: Epicymatia Fuckel, Pharcidia Körb., Pharcidiopsis Sacc. & D. Sacc.[4]
