Pozycja w klasyfikacji według Index Fungorum: Mycenaceae, Agaricales, Agaricomycetidae, Agaricomycetes, Agaricomycotina, Basidiomycota, Fungi[1].
Rodzaj Tectella utworzył Franklin Sumner Earle w 1909 r. Gatunkiem typowym jest Tectella operculata[1].Polską nazwę zaproponował Władysław Wojewoda 2003 r.[2]
