Etymologia

Greckie θλυπις thlupis – nieznany mały ptak, być może zięba lub pokrzewka; οψις opsis – „wygląd”. W ornitologii thlypis oznacza albo lasówki lub, jak w tym przypadku, pokrzewkodziobe tanagry[5].
