To Pimp a Butterfly – trzeci studyjny album amerykańskiego rapera Kendricka Lamara. Światowa premiera odbyła się 16 marca 2015 roku, choć pierwotnie planowano ją na 23 marca[40][41][42]. Wydawnictwo ukazało się nakładem wytwórni Top Dawg Entertainment w kooperacji z Aftermath Entertainment, a za dystrybucję odpowiadała Interscope Records. W wyniku błędów ekipy wytwórni Interscope Records, album został udostępniony na iTunes, tydzień przed oficjalną premierą[42].

Album był nagrywany w kilku studiach nagraniowych w Stanach Zjednoczonych. Raper swoje utwory nagrywał między innymi w studiu Chalice Recording Studios czy Downtown Music Studios. Producentami wykonawczymi płyty byli Dr. Dre oraz Anthony „Top Dawg” Tiffith. Poza tym, za produkcję poszczególnych piosenek odpowiadali Boi-1da, Flying Lotus, 1500 or Nothin' czy Pharrell Williams.

W celu promocji wydawnictwa, ukazały się trzy single pt. „i”, „The Blacker the Berry” oraz „King Kunta”[43][44][45].

Tytuł zadebiutował na szczycie listy sprzedaży Billboard 200, ze sprzedażą 355 000 egzemplarzy[46]. To Pimp a Butterfly debiutował także na 1. miejscu w Nowej Zelandii oraz Australii[47][48].
