Historia
Klub założony został 29 lutego 1977 pod nazwą Universidad de Los Andes Mérida Fútbol Club. Przed sezonem 1998/99 klub przejął drużynę Atlético Zulia Fútbol Club pochodzącą z miasta Maracaibo - stolicy stanu Zulia.
