Miłością do gór, zaszczepiła go Mama, z którą podróżował po Beskidach i zdobywał swoje pierwsze szczyty. Jako jedenastolatek ujrzał Tatry i zdobył Rysy. Przygodę ze wspinaczką rozpoczął w 1983r. z Harcerskim Klubem Taternickim na Jurze Krakowsko-Częstochowskiej. Od 1984r. działacz Klubu Wysokogórskiego w Katowicach, taternik, alpinista, himalaista, który na swym szlaku życia ma za sobą wiele wypraw w różne góry świata, np. Alpy - Mont Blanc, Matterhorn, Weisshorn itp, Kaukaz - Elbrus, Tien Szan - rej. dział. Chan Tengri , Pik Pobiedy, Andy - Aconcagua lodowcem Polaków, Himalaje - Island Peak, Ama Dablam czy Karakorum - rej. dział. Broad Peak. Uczestnik wyprawy "Siódmy" z 2023r. po Tomka Kowalskiego na Broad Peak. Przeżył Alaskę i zdobył Denali. Miłośnik górskich wędrówek i Babiej Góry.
