Posunięcie czarnych. Są one w zugzwangu, gdyż dowolny ruch prowadzi do ich porażki.
Zugzwang – sytuacja w szachach, w której wykonanie ruchu powoduje natychmiastowe pogorszenie pozycji strony będącej na posunięciu.
Zugzwang występuje często w końcówkach.
W 1923 roku Aron Nimzowitsch wygrał partię z Friedrichem Sämischem, która jest określana jako nieśmiertelna partia zugzwangowa[1][2].

Obopólny zugzwang. Jeżeli białe muszą wykonać ruch, remis; jeżeli czarne muszą wykonać ruch, przegrywają. Jedna z najbardziej typowych pozycji zugzwangu w końcówkach pionowych.
