Acer oligocarpum adalah spesies mapel asal Asia. Tumbuhan ini hanya ditemukan di Tiongkok (Tibet dan Yunnan).[3]
Acer oligocarpum adalah pohon kecil yang tingginya mencapai 12 meter dengan kulit kayu berwarna abu-abu. Daunnya tidak majemuk, tebal, dan agak seperti kulit, dengan lebar hingga 14 cm dan panjang 4,3 cm, berbentuk telur atau lanset tanpa gigi atau lobus. Daun-daunnya memiliki tangkai daun berwarna ungu.[3]
