Olyra lancifolia Mez

Agnesia adalah genus dari bambu herba Amerika Selatan dalam suku rumput-rumputan.[2][3]

Genus ini dinamai untuk menghormati agrostolog (spesialis botani di bidang rumput-rumputan) Mary Agnes Chase (1869-1963).

Satu-satunya spesies yang diketahui adalah Agnesia lancifolia, yang berasal dari hutan hujan tropis dataran rendah di Brasil, Kolombia, dan Peru.[4][5]

Agnesia lancifolia adalah herba tahunan dengan 7-10 batang per rumpun, masing-masing dengan tinggi hingga 50 cm. Daun bagian bawah tidak memiliki helaian daun atau memiliki helaian kurang dari 5 mm; daun bagian atas memiliki helaian hingga 16 cm. Setiap batang memiliki 1-6 rasem di ujung kulm atau dari ketiak daun bagian atas, dengan bunga pistilat (betina) dan staminat (jantan) berada dalam bulir yang berbeda pada tumbuhan yang sama.[5][6]
