Microptilotis atau ajwoy adalah genus burung dalam famili pemakan madu Meliphagidae.

Genus ini diperkenalkan pada tahun 1912 oleh ahli burung Australia Gregory Mathews dengan ajwoy elok ( Microptilotis gracilis ) sebagai spesies tipenya .[1] Nama genus Microptilotis menggabungkan bahasa Yunani Kuno mikros yang berarti "kecil" dan nama genus Ptilotis .[2]

Spesies yang kini ditempatkan di Microptilotis dahulunya ditempatkan di genus Meliphaga. Ketika studi filogenetik molekuler menemukan bahwa Meliphaga mengandung dua klade yang berbeda, genus tersebut terpecah dan banyak spesies dipindahkan ke genus yang dibangkitkan Microptilotis. [3] [4] [5]
