Amorphophallus abyssinicus, yang juga dikenal sebagai Bagana (bahasa Sidamo), adalah tumbuhan dari genus Amorphophallus. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari Etiopia bagian selatan, di mana ia ditanam di kebun-kebun, oleh karena itu epitet spesifiknya, abyssinicus, berasal dari bahasa Latin yang berarti "Abyssinia" atau "Etiopia".[1]

Tanaman ini dibudidayakan di Gojjam, serta di Zona Semien Omo dan Woreda khusus Konso di Wilayah Bangsa, Kebangsaan, dan Rakyat Etiopia, pada lahan dengan ketinggian antara 1300 hingga 2000 meter di atas permukaan laut. Akar umbinya dipanen dan dimasak dalam waktu yang lama sebelum dimakan.[2]
