Aylostera pygmaea, sinonim termasuk Rebutia pygmaea, adalah spesies kaktus dalam genus Aylostera, asli dari Bolivia dan barat laut Argentina.[2] Spesies ini telah menerima Award of Garden Merit dari Royal Horticultural Society.[3]

Aylostera pygmaea jarang tumbuh sendirian, tetapi paling sering menghasilkan tunas yang melimpah dengan tubuh berbentuk bola, bola tertekan, atau silinder memanjang. Tubuhnya mencapai ketinggian hingga 6 sentimeter dengan diameter 0,5 hingga 4 sentimeter dan memiliki akar tunggang yang kuat. Terdapat 9 hingga 15 rusuk yang hampir tidak terbagi menjadi tonjolan. Areola-nya berbentuk lingkaran. Duri tengah, yang terkadang tidak ada, menonjol dan pendek. Terdapat 2 hingga 11 duri marginal berwarna putih hingga kecokelatan. Duri-duri ini memancar secara lateral, menempel pada permukaan tubuh atau sedikit menonjol, dan panjangnya 2 hingga 6 milimeter.
Bunganya yang berwarna kuning hingga kuning keemasan, oranye, oranye-merah, merah muda atau ungu, dan jarang berwarna api, memiliki panjang 1,6 hingga 2,7 sentimeter. Buahnya yang berbentuk bola berwarna kehijauan dan memiliki diameter hingga 6 milimeter.
