Başakşehir adalah salah satu dari 39 distrik tingkat dua di Istanbul Besar, Turkey. Jumlah penduduk Başakşehir adalah 311,095 orang pada 2012.[1] Distrik tersebut berada di bagian Eropa dari Istanbul.
Geografi
Başakşehir terletak di bagian Eropa (Rumeli) dari İstanbul di 41°05′N 28°49′E / 41.083°N 28.817°E. Dam Sazlıdere berada di sebelah barat lautnya dan Laut Marmara berada di sebelah selatannya. Distrik tersebut berbatasan dengan distrik tingkat dua Istanbul lainnya, seperti Eyüp, Sultangazi, Esenler, Bağcılar, Küçükçekmece, Avcılar, Esenyurt dan Arnavutköy. (Istanbul adalah salah satu dari 30 pusat metropolitan di Turki dengan lebih dari satu munisipalitas di dalam perbatasan kotanya.)
