Beta Monocerotis
Beta Monocerotis (Beta Mon, β Monocerotis, β Mon) merupakan sebuah sistem tiga bintang di rasi Monoceros.[1] Diamati dengan mata telanjang, bintang ini tampak sebagai buintang tunggal dengan magnitudo semu 3,74, sehingga merupakan bintang paling terang di rasi Monoceros.[2] Pengamatan melalui teleskop menunjukkan tiga bintang. Sistem bintang ini terdiri dari tiga bintang Be, β Monocerotis A, β Monocerotis B, dan β Monocerotis C. Terdapat juga sebuah bintang dekat yang kemungkinan tidak terikat secara fisik dengan tiga bintang lainnya.[1]

Beta Monocerotis C (Beta Mon C / β Monocerotis C / β Mon C) merupakan bintang Be dengan massa sekitar 6 massa Matahari dan luminositas 1300 kali Matahari.[1] Bintang ini diperkirakan merupakan bintang ganda melalui pengamatan interferometrik pada tahun 1988, tetapi hingga sekarang belum dapat dikonfirmasi.[12][13]

Sistem tiga bintang memiliki sebuah pasangan visual, CCDM J06288-0702D, yang memiliki magnitudo semu 12 dan tampak berjarak 25 detik busur dari β Monocerotis A.[4] Bintang ini kemungkinan besar tidak terikat secara fisik dengan tiga bintang lainnya, melainkan hanya terlihat berdekatan di langit.[1]
