Borealopelta (berarti 'perisai utara') adalah sebuah genus ankylosauria nodosauridae punah dari periode Kapur Akhir di wilayah yang kini merupakan Alberta, Kanada. Genus ini hanya mencakup satu spesies, yaitu B. markmitchelli, yang dinamai pada 2017 oleh Caleb Brown dkk.[1] bedasarkan sebuah spesimen yang terawetkan dengan baik yang dijuluki nodosauria Suncor. Ditemukan pada tambang pasir minyak di utara Fort McMurray, Alberta, spesimen ini dikenal sebagai salah satu spesimen fosil dinosaurus yang terawetkan dengan paling baik yang pernah ditemukan sepanjang masa. Fosil tersebut tidak hanya mengawetkan zirah (osteoderm) Borealopelta sebagaimana posisinya ketika masih hidup, tetapi juga sisa-sisa selubung keratin, kulit yang menutupi, dan isi perut dari makanan terakhir hewan tersebut. Melanosom juga ditemukan, yang mengindikasikan bahwa kulit hewan ini merah muda kemerahan. Panjangnya sekitar 5,5 meter (18 ft) dan bobot 1,3 ton metrik (1,4 ton pendek).[1]
