Ceratonia /ˌsɛrəˈtoʊniə/[2] adalah genus kecil pohon berbunga dalam keluarga kacang (Fabaceae), endemik di kawasan Mediterania dan Timur Tengah. Anggotanya yang paling terkenal adalah pohon carob (Ceratonia siliqua) yang dibudidayakan untuk diambil buahnya yang dapat dimakan, dan telah diperkenalkan secara luas ke daerah dengan iklim serupa. Genus ini sudah lama dianggap monotipe, tetapi spesies kedua yakni Ceratonia oreothauma diidentifikasi pada tahun 1979 dari Oman dan Somalia.[3] Genus ini termasuk dalam subfamili Caesalpinioideae dan tribus Umtizieae. Nama usang untuk genus ini adalah Acalis.

Fosil Spesies Ceratonia emarginata diketahui dari Miosen Swiss dan Hungaria.
