Copernicia hospita adalah sejenis palem yang endemik di Kuba.[1]
Deskripsi
Daun palem lilin Kuba yang berbentuk melingkar, berwarna abu-abu kebiruan, dan berlilin, terbentang seperti kipas pada batang (petiol) yang panjang dan tipis. Sebanyak 40 helai daun membentuk garis luar melingkar yang sangat khas di sekitar bagian atas batang. Batang kolumnar yang halus dapat tumbuh hingga diameter 1 ft (0,3 m) dan tinggi hingga 26 ft (7,9 m). Bunga-bunga berwarna cokelat yang mungil menjulur melewati dedaunan pada cabang-cabang yang berbulu unik. Spesies Copernicia ini bersifat monoseus, bunganya biseksual. Buahnya menyerupai kelereng hitam dengan diameter hingga 1 in (2,5 m).[2]
