Crypsis vaginiflora adalah spesies rumput yang dikenal dengan nama umum modest pricklegrass. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari Afrika Utara, tetapi dapat ditemukan di bagian dunia lain sebagai spesies introduksi, termasuk wilayah barat Amerika Serikat, khususnya Kalifornia, tempat ia umum ditemukan di habitat basah seperti kolam vernal. Tumbuhan ini merupakan rumput semusim yang membentuk hamparan batang hijau yang merayap, umumnya tidak melebihi panjang 30 sentimeter. Batangnya diselubungi oleh pelepah daun, yang helaian daun kecilnya mudah patah.
