Dialium ovoideum adalah spesies tanaman tropis[1] dalam keluarga Fabaceae. Spesies ini endemik di Sri Lanka. Nama dalam bahasa Sinhala (Sri Lanka) yaitu ගල් සියඹලා (gal siyambala) yang berarti "asam kerikil" (ගල්: seperti kerikil/batu/keras).[2] Nama dalam bahasa Tamil yaitu பட்டு புளியம் பழம் yang berarti "asam sutra" yang dinamai berdasarkan tekstur halus seperti sutra pada kulit buahnya. (பட்டு: beludru).
