Dioscorea ancachsensis adalah tumbuhan herba dalam genus Dioscorea yang merupakan tumbuhan asli Peru.[1] Belum dapat dipastikan apakah spesimen-spesimen ini sudah dewasa, namun spesimen ini berbeda dari kebanyakan spesimen spesies Dioscorea lainnya karena ukurannya yang kira-kira 5 cm. Salah satu spesimen tersebut, yang dikumpulkan dari lereng bukit terbuka di Cuzco, mencakup dedaunan, bunga, dan umbi, serta berukuran sekitar 4 kali 5 cm saat ditekan.[2][3]
