Drosera dielsiana adalah embun matahari berukuran kompak dengan bentuk roset yang berasal dari Afrika Selatan (KwaZulu-Natal, Free State, Provinsi-provinsi Utara), Eswatini (Swaziland), Mozambik, Malawi, dan Zimbabwe.[2] Tanaman ini dideskripsikan sebagai spesies baru oleh Arthur Wallis Exell dan Jack Rodney Laundon pada tahun 1956.[3][4] Jumlah kromosom diploid tanaman ini adalah 2n=40.[5] Spesies ini dinamai untuk menghormati Ludwig Diels, penulis monograf tahun 1906 mengenai Droseraceae.
