Duparquetia orchidacea adalah liana yang berasal dari Afrika barat tropis. Tanaman ini merupakan satu-satunya spesies dalam subfamili Duparquetioideae. Spesies ini ditemukan di hutan tropis lembap di Afrika Barat dan Tengah.[2] Tanaman ini merupakan anggota basal dari Fabaceae, sebagaimana dibuktikan oleh struktur bunga dan kayunya yang khas, serta studi filogenetik.[3]
