Echinolaena adalah genus tumbuhan dalam tribus Paspaleae dari keluarga rumput-rumputan (Poaceae), yang berasal dari wilayah tropis Dunia Baru.[3][4] Genus ini hanya mencakup dua spesies setelah pemindahan mantan anggotanya ke genus terkait yaitu Ichnanthus, Oedochloa, dan genus yang lebih jauh kekerabatannya yaitu Chasechloa (tribus Paniceae) dalam sebuah revisi pada tahun 2015.[4]
