Flueggea adalah genus semak dan pohon dalam famili Phyllanthaceae yang pertama kali dideskripsikan sebagai genus pada tahun 1806.[3][4][5] Genus ini tersebar luas di sebagian besar Asia, Afrika, dan berbagai pulau samudra, dengan beberapa spesies di Amerika Selatan dan Semenanjung Iberia.[2][6][7][8][9][10]

Genus ini dinamai menurut nama John Fluegge, seorang ahli botani kriptogami Jerman.
