Gasterosteoidei adalah sebuah subordo Actinopterygii yang mencakup ikan punggung duri dan kerabat-kerabatnya. Edisi ke-5 dari Fishes of the World menggolongkan subordo ini di dalam ordo Scorpaeniformes.
Sebaran
Gasterodteoidei ditemukan di belahan bumi utara, sebagian besar di wilayah beriklim sedang dan arktik,[2] kecuali Indostomidae yang ditemukan di habitat air tawar di Asia Tenggara daratan.[3] Kelompok lainnya dapat ditemukan di air tawar, payau, dan asin.[2]
