HE 1256−2738 adalah subdwarf (bintang katai bawah) yang terletak sekitar 1.000 tahun cahaya jauhnya di rasi bintang Hydra, dengan suhu permukaan sekitar 38.000 °C (68.400 °F). Bersama dengan bintang HE 2359−2844 dan LS IV-14 116, HE 1256−2738 membentuk kelompok bintang baru yang disebut subdwarf logam berat.[2]
