Hylonomus (/haɪˈlɒnəməs/; hylo- "hutan" + nomos "penghuni")[1] adalah sebuah genus punah reptil yang hidup sekitar 312 juta tahun lalu, pada akhir periode Karbon.[2] Hylonomus merupakan reptil terawal pasti (Westlothiana lebih tua, tetapi mungkin merupakan sebuah amfibi, sementara sisa-sisa Casineria fragmenter). Satu-satunya spesies pada hgenus ini adalah spesies tipenya, Hylonomus lyelli. Meski menjadi salahsatu reptil tertua, Hylonomus merupakan anggota paling primitif dari kelompok tersebut, tergolong kepada kelompok eureptila.
Hewan ini memiliki panjang sekitar 20 hingga 25 cm (termasuk ekornya), dan memiliki gigi-gigi kecil yang digunakan untuk memakan invertebrata kecil.[3]
