Jouvea adalah genus tumbuhan pesisir Amerika Latin dalam keluarga rumput (Poaceae). Tumbuhan ini tumbuh di dataran lumpur dan bukit pasir pantai dari Meksiko bagian utara hingga Ekuador.[2][4][5][6]
Kerabat terdekat Jouvea dalam subfamili Chloridoideae kemungkinan besar adalah Monanthochloe; keduanya berbagi karakteristik daun yang tersusun secara distik (dua baris), dan keduanya merupakan tumbuhan berumah dua.[2]
Jouvea dinamai menurut ahli botani Prancis Joseph Duval-Jouve (1810–1883)[7]
