Jovellana adalah sebuah genus tumbuhan berbunga dalam famili Calceolariaceae. Sebelumnya genus ini ditempatkan dalam Scrophulariaceae, dan masih dianggap termasuk ke dalam famili tersebut oleh beberapa ahli. Namun, penelitian molekuler terkini mengindikasikan bahwa famili Scrophulariaceae itu polifiletik,[3] yang berarti kelompok tersebut mencakup lebih dari satu garis keturunan dengan banyak leluhur bersama. Dengan demikian, beberapa generanya, termasuk Jovellana, telah dipecah dan dimasukkan ke dalam famili-famili baru atau yang sudah ada.
