Kalanchoe laetivirens adalah spesies Kalanchoe (seksi Bryophyllum). Spesies ini sempat dikira sebagai hibrida antara K. daigremontiana dan K. laxiflora (sinonim Bryophyllum crenatum). Oleh karena itu, sekelompok nama tidak valid untuk hibrida tersebut, termasuk Kalanchoe crenodaigremontiana, Kalanchoe crenato-daigremontiana, Bryophyllum crenodaigremontianum, dan Bryophyllum crenato-daigremontianum, hanyalah sinonim dari K. laetivirens.[1] Namun, hibrida asli mereka berbeda dari spesies ini.[2]
Tumbuhan ini sering disalahidentifikasi sebagai salah satu induk dugaannya, K. daigremontiana, yang memiliki pita atau bintik pada bagian belakang daunnya, sementara daun K. laetivirens benar-benar berwarna hijau, sebagaimana ditunjukkan oleh epitetnya laetivirens yang berarti "hijau subur".[3]
