Koefisien Gini

Koefisien Gini adalah pengukuran yang dikembangkan oleh statistikus Italia, Corrado Gini, dan dipublikasikan pada tahun 1912 dalam karyanya, Variabilità e mutabilità.
Koefisien ini biasanya digunakan untuk mengukur kesenjangan pendapatan dan kekayaan. Di seluruh dunia, koefisien bervariasi dari 0.25 (Denmark) hingga 0.70 (Namibia).
Koefisien gini memiliki indeks yang memiliki rentang nilai antara 0 sampai dengan 1. Nilai 0 berarti tidak ada kesenjangan ekonomi, atau perekonomian merata pada daerah tersebut. Sementara itu, nilai 1 menunjukkan nilai kesenjangan maksimal.[1]
